WHO I AM
Hi guys, I’m Jessie Merrie. JM tallow was born on a whim, leap of faith if you will!!! My twin actually said, “Jessie create a page and see how it goes, this stuff is amazing, and people will love it”. I’ve been making tallow for over 3 years now. I still have my original jar I made from my Very first recipe and it still smells and looks like the day I made it…WILD!
I am a wife, a mother, and a hobby farmer. I source my suet from either our own cattle or close friend’s cattle. Sheep suet also comes from a close friend who raises sheep for slaughter. Beeswax is sourced locally.
Suet as I am sure you are now wondering what that is. Suet is the fatty protective layer around the organs. It is hard and breaks apart like sharp cheddar cheese. This gets rendered down by me, which creates Tallow. Tallow can only come from Ruminant Animals. Cows, sheep, goats, deer and elk for example.
